How You'll Make an Impact

As an Engineering Manager in Partnership Engineering, you will lead a 5-engineer team that owns end-to-end delivery for one of Trusting Social's lending partners — a financial institution or consumer-finance company in Vietnam or the Philippines.

This is not a traditional people-manager EM role. You are the technical and product anchor of the team, accountable for a partner business outcome co-owned with the Business Unit leader, and operating as their peer rather than as a delivery contractor. You'll guide a small, high-craft team building on Trusting Social's multi-tenant co-lending platform — a platform that lets each partner configure and enable the lending capabilities they need (origination, KYC, credit decisioning, disbursement, servicing) rather than receiving a custom build. Your team owns one partner's slice of that platform end-to-end.

What You'll Do

• Own a partner business outcome expressed as a Key Result co-owned with the Business Unit leader — typically a measurable partner metric such as disbursement volume, application-to-funded conversion, onboarding turnaround time, or risk-adjusted approval rate
• Lead end-to-end delivery of the partner's product roadmap on the co-lending platform: architecture, build, ship, operate, iterate
• Compose and grow a 5-engineer team balanced for competency diversity across full-stack engineering, domain depth, product architecture, AI operations, and partner relationship; ensure no single point of failure on critical capabilities
• Run the technical conversation with the partner's product and tech counterparts; hold the line on tech debt and scope creep while keeping the partnership intact
• Operate as a peer to the Business Unit leader on commercial trade-offs — SOW boundaries, capacity-versus-revenue decisions, partner-side contract gates
• Contribute to platform-level decisions with other team leads (~10-15% of your time) to keep the shared co-lending platform coherent across partners
• Own production for your team — the team runs its own on-call, and you are the escalation peer rather than the first responder

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years building and operating production systems, with meaningful time in fintech, lending, payments, or KYC/identity domains
• Hands-on in the codebase — you read PRs, write occasional production code, and design system architecture yourself rather than delegating the technical thinking
• AI-native in your delivery — Claude, Copilot, or equivalents are a first-class part of your engineering loop, and you have coached engineers to work the same way; comfortable being measured on AI-leveraged delivery rather than headcount
• Strong familiarity with our stack: Go (backend services) and TypeScript (frontend and tooling); strong polyglots also welcome
• Business sense — you frame engineering trade-offs in partner P&L terms, not abstract craft terms, and are comfortable in commercial conversations
• Product mindset — you can drive product decisions with a Business Unit leader as a peer, design for operators (customer service, ops, compliance) as first-class users, and have shipped products end-to-end rather than just features
• Demonstrated proactiveness — your prior work shows you unblock teams by making calls and bringing proposals, not by escalating
• Partner relationship capability — you can sit across from a partner CTO or BU head as a credible peer and say "no" to tech debt, scope creep, or unrealistic dates while keeping the partnership healthy
• Experience working with Vietnamese or Philippine financial-services partners is a strong plus
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
