How you will make an impact in this role
The Technical Associate Manager is responsible for designing, building, and operating technology solutions for Risk, with a strong focus on risk data pipelines, analytics, AI-driven tools, and automation. The role supports early risk detection, fraud prevention, and post-approval risk control by delivering scalable and production-ready Risk capabilities.
This position sits within the Risk function and works closely with Engineering teams to enable and accelerate risk policy implementation through data, prototypes, services, and integrations, while ensuring alignment with existing Decision Engine architecture and engineering standards.
What you will do
- Design, build and operate new Risk solutions to strengthen fraud prevention, early risk detection and post-approval risk control, focusing on capabilities that are parallel to the core Decision Engine.
- Develop and maintain risk data pipelines and feature layers (batch & near-realtime) to support fraud analysis, credit risk assessment, early warning and portfolio monitoring.
- Build automation-driven Risk tools (AI Agents, automation services, external data checks, document verification, network analysis, etc.) to enhance Risk’s analytical and operational capabilities.
- Implement Risk capabilities as independent services or tools, designed to integrate with existing workflow tools and to interface with the Decision Engine via APIs/webhooks, without directly modifying or owning the Decision Engine core logic.
- Collaborate closely with the Partnership Engineering team to:
- Provide risk requirements, data outputs and recommendations for policy changes
- Support Engineering in validating and testing new or updated risk logic
- Ensure alignment on architecture boundaries and integration standards
- Support risk policy changes indirectly by:
- Prototyping new risk logic and controls outside the Decision Engine
- Providing data-driven insights, simulations and evidence to enable faster implementation by the Engineering team
- Develop monitoring, testing and validation frameworks for Risk solutions, including expected vs. actual outcome analysis, operational alerts and audit support.
What you will need to have
Risk Expertise
- Strong understanding of credit risk and fraud risk in auto-approval, no-income-proof, real-time decision environments.
- Proven experience translating risk policies into executable decision logic.
- Solid knowledge of risk rating, PD, bad rate, and early delinquency metrics.
- Strong understanding of common fraud patterns, including identity theft, encashment, and merchant/employee fraud.
Technical Skills
- Experience designing and building data pipelines for risk and analytics use cases.
- Strong working knowledge of APIs (REST/JSON) for integrating decision logic with other systems.
- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and deploying standalone services.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and the ability to set up CI/CD for risk modules.
- Experience implementing logic as microservices or service layers that interact with the Decision Engine in real time.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk systems, decision engines, fraud platforms, or credit platforms.
- Preferred background in banking, fintech, or consumer finance.
- Proven experience working closely with Risk teams and taking accountability for risk outcomes.
